Larry Kyle Gordon, 86, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 26th, 2008; surrounded by his loving family at his home in Forgan, Oklahoma.

Larry was born on December 21, 1921 in Turpin, Oklahoma to James and Lila (Kimble) Gordon. He was a lifelong resident of the Oklahoma Panhandle.

He was united in marriage to Lucile DeWolfe on July 26, 1942 in Guymon. Larry and Lucile both became Christians when their four children were young, and thus began a life of service to Christ's work. They shared sixty-two years of marriage. Lucile suffered a stroke in 2001; Larry devoted himself to her care until her passing in November of 2004.

Mr. Gordon retired from a career in the gas industry, where he had worked as an operator and well inspector.

Larry served in the Army Air Force during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He spent many years as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts. He played softball, baseball, coached little league baseball, and refereed football and basketball. He loved camping, fishing, spending time with family, especially grandkids, and playing games or cards with friends. He loved homemade ice cream and REAL cold cream pie. The monthly Gordon breakfast was a big part of his life for many years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucile; his parents, James and Lila; brothers: Dradon, Dwight, Norton, Dean and Dale; sister, Sylvannia; brother-in-law, Pee Wee Krieger and sister-in-law, Opal Gordon.

Survivors include his children: Janice and husband, Rance Grice of Kenton, OK, Larry D. Gordon and his wife, Patsy of Standish, MI, Billy R. Gordon and his wife, Mary of Sanford, MI, and Kathy and her husband, Bill Maier of Guthrie, OK; fifteen grandchildren: Faye, Mary, Mark, Luke, Sarah, Hannah, Esther, John, Paul, Scott, Kim, Andrew, Molly, Tim and Karen. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Sutherland of Ashland, Kansas officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
